During the fall and winter months, you may wish to host parties for Halloween, Christmas, and New Years Eve.

Every party should have a signature drink for the guests to enjoy while they are there.

If you are recovering from drug or alcohol addiction, you may be unsure how to create the perfect non-alcoholic beverage for your guests.

Non-Alcoholic Holiday Drink Recipes

Whether it is Halloween, Christmas, or New Years, here are some great alternative drink choices.

Halloween

Halloween parties are a great time to dress up and spend time with good friends. This Halloween, serve your guests this Candy Corn Punch. It will leave them wanting more while adding a nice touch to your table.

To make this punch you will need Crush Orange soda, yellow Gatorade, and zero calorie lemonade flavored vitamin water.

You will begin by filling the glass with crushed ice. Then add orange soda until the glass is one-third full. You will then slowly pour the Gatorade on top of the orange soda until the glass is two-thirds full. Slowly pour the lemonade flavored vitamin water on top of the Gatorade to fill the rest of the glass.

You will want to create a layered effect in the glass that will leave your punch looking like a candy corn.

Christmas

The staple item for every Christmas party is eggnog. However if you are recovering from addiction, you will need a non-alcoholic version of this popular drink.

To make this non-alcoholic eggnog you will need six large eggs plus two yolks (separate the yolks from the whites), 1/2 cup and two tablespoons of sugar, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, four cups of whole milk, one tablespoon of vanilla extract, 1/2 teaspoon grated nutmeg, and 1/2 cup of heavy cream (whipped to soft peaks).

You will first combine eggs, egg yolks, sugar, and salt in a heavy 4-quart pan. Use a whisk to combine the ingredients. You will then slowly pour milk into the pan while you continue whisking the mixture. Heat pan on low stirring continuously until the mixture reaches 160 degrees or is thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.

Strain mixture through a fine strainer to remove any cooked egg. You will stir in the vanilla and nutmeg.

You will want to allow the eggnog to chill for at least four hours before serving. Once the eggnog is chilled you will fold the heavy cream that has been whipped into the eggnog. While this recipe may be time consuming, it is worth every minute.

New Years Eve

When throwing a New Years Eve party, you will want to use drinks that look like their alcoholic counterparts. This type of drink is called a “mocktail” and is often made using the same ingredients as a traditional cocktail without the alcohol.

One popular “mocktail” for New Year’s Eve is the Cran-Raspberry Mocktini.

To make this drink you will need 1 tablespoon crushed raspberries, 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice, 1/2 teaspoon of natural cranberry juice, splash of raspberry flavored sparkling water, and cranberries, sugar, and a lemon wedge for garnish.

Place the raspberries, lime juice, and ice into shaker and shake until chilled. Add cranberry juice and sparkling water mixing the ingredients thoroughly. Use the lemon wedge to make the rim of the glass wet and roll in sugar. Place cranberries in glass and pour juice mixture into glass.
